Guest Speller FAQs
Where do I sign up to be a guest speller? You can sign up to be a guest speller at the “Do You Spell?” booth on the orchestra level of New World Stages. The booth is located just past the Spelling Bee merchandise stand on the right side of the Stage 3 entrance.
What time should I arrive to sign up to be a speller? Sign-ups open 1 hour before the show begins and close approximately 25 minutes before the show begins.
Do I need to be sitting in the Orchestra to be a guest speller? No! You can be a guest speller no matter where you are sitting!
Are there age restrictions for guest spellers? Guest spellers must be at least 10 years old on the day they attend the show. Anyone below the age of 18 must be accompanied by a legal parent or guardian.
Can I be selected if I do not sign myself up to spell? No! Guest spelling is voluntary and anyone wishing to participate must do so of their own accord. A friend or family member cannot sign you up without you knowing.
How will I know if I was chosen, and what happens if I am? Guest spellers will be announced at the sign-up booth approximately 15 minutes before the show begins. If selected, you or a legal guardian (if you are under 18) will sign a waiver and receive all instructions from our wonderful team of wranglers!
Will there be a special guest speller at the show I attend? All our guest spellers are special! Every audience member we select is important to our show!
Can I do anything to help me be selected as a guest speller? BEE kind, BEE yourself, and BEE willing to have fun!
